What Will a Framed Photo Look Like?

Framing / Presentation

Generally, images with a simple white border mat and a frame that will match the interior of your room is a safe choice. If adequate space is available a thick mat is very effective at isolating an image—so that it stands on its own while complimenting the interior of the space. Although “matting” is a “matter” of personal preference, we feel that a three (3) inch surrounding mat border is appropriate for a 12 inch x 18 inch print…a little smaller for a smaller print and larger for large prints. The thickness of the frame should ideally be proportionate to the size of the image and the total area of the surrounding mat. Below are some images illustrating these thoughts and some examples of how an image might present in your room. Also shown is an example of a triptych, which works well if you would like to combine similar themes within one frame.

We will mount and frame an image and ship it too you per your instructions…Or you can simply order a print and have the rest done yourself. Please reference the Tech Info page for more information regarding mounting and framing recommendations. NOTE: If you would like the artist’s signature on the mat face, as well as the print surface, you will need to order mounting and matting from us for delivery.
